Waipouli Beach Park
East Shore
Anahola Beach Park is a local favorite because it has something suitable for everyone. It’s located on the east shore of Kauai. Many believe this is the safest beach on the windward coast of Kauai. White sand shores are protected from high surf by a reef. The ocean bottom has a few pockets of sand, so kids can swim here. There is a surf break at the outer edge of the reef providing for calmer waters.
Directions |
This beach is on Anahola Road at Mile Marker 13. If coming from Lihue, drive north on Highway 59. Turn right about 0.6 miles from Mile Marker 13. Continue down Anahola Road. Anahola Beach Park is just a half a mile ahead. Parking
There is usually plenty of parking here, either before or after the building and lifeguard station. It can get muddy, as it’s a dirt lot, so watch where you park if you don’t have four wheel drive.

Safety |
Extra caution should be taken near the river mouth because rip currents can be strong here and there are no lifeguard stations at this end of the beach. |
